Air Hygiene Operative Course Description
The BESA Air Hygiene Operative course is a comprehensive programme combining both theoretical instruction and practical training. Delegates are assessed on their knowledge and practical skills throughout the course.
Course Content Includes:
- Safe working practices in air hygiene environments
- Fundamentals of general ventilation systems and their components
- Planning and preparing a safe and effective work area
- Cleaning methods for ventilation systems and components
- Environmentally sustainable working practices
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand key health, safety, and environmental considerations in the workplace
- Recognise the value of sustainable working practices
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of ventilation systems and their functions
- Prepare work areas effectively and efficiently for cleaning operations
- Choose appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for the job
- Install suitable access panels to facilitate system cleaning
- Perform cleaning procedures safely and correctly
- Address common on-site challenges within their scope of responsibility
Maintain a clean and organised work environment after completion of tasks
Understand the commercial impact of their work and decisions

- Doing the course does not guarantee a pass, you must successfully complete the multiple choice paper, Practical assessment & Professional discussion to pass.
- You have TWO attempts at each multiple choice paper- failure to pass these will result in the need to resit the full training course at full cost.
- Tea & Coffee is provided on the course however lunch is not ( Lots of places locally to get food)

- BESA Academy Online Health Safety Environment test certificate- Course – The BESA
- CITB Health, Safety and Environment test certificate
- Client Contractors National Safety Group (CCNSG) two day Safety Passport Scheme course
- CITB Supervisory Site Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course
- Client Contractors National Safety Group (CCNSG) two day Safety Passport Scheme course
- National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Construction Certificate (NOT the General Certificate)
- Institute of Safety & Health (IOSH) Managing Safely

- The H&S entry requirement is non-negotiable and failure to present a valid certificate before your course will result in you being turned away without a refund.

All of our courses are held at our training centre which is located in our Gateshead Head Office- NE11 0HZ.
Courses run from 10:00 until 16:00 depending on the level of experience of the trainees.
Local hotels are available the closest of which being the Premier Inn Newcastle Team Valley- NE11 0BE.
